Thomas Earl Stokes Sr., 86, of Highland Springs, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016. He served in the United States Army, and was a supervisor at Union Envelope Company. Tom was also a member of VA Folk Music Association, and was a State Champion Dobro player in 1966. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Sheets Stokes. Tom is survived by his children, Thomas Stokes Jr., (Nancy), Debra Lynn Jordan (James), and Jerry Lee Stokes (Pam); grandchildren, Chris, Kristen, and Kaitlyn Jordan, and Taylor and Adam Stokes; siblings, Kathleen Stokes Edwards, and Marshall...

Tom is survived by his children, Thomas Stokes Jr., (Nancy), Debra Lynn Jordan (James), and Jerry Lee Stokes (Pam); grandchildren, Chris, Kristen, and Kaitlyn Jordan, and Taylor and Adam Stokes; siblings, Kathleen Stokes Edwards, and Marshall G. Stokes and his beloved dog of 17 years who will miss him dearly, Dolly. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 2-4p and 6-8p at Nelsen Funeral Home Laburnum.
