PATTERSON, Ida Frances Vaughan ("Frankie"), 90, of Varina, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family after a long illness to join God, who called her home on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Raymond M. Patterson; her daughter, Beverley Patterson (Zienius) Quesenberry of Wytheville, Virginia; sisters, Lucille Vaughan, Katherine Vaughan Martin; and brothers, William Vaughan, Preston Vaughan, Carlton Vaughan and Charlie Vaughan; and her parents, William Preston Vaughan and Carrie Ethel Giddings Vaughan. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patricia Lehman, Sue Hartley (Randy)...

PATTERSON, Ida Frances Vaughan ("Frankie"), 90, of Varina, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family after a long illness to join God, who called her home on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Raymond M. Patterson; her daughter, Beverley Patterson (Zienius) Quesenberry of Wytheville, Virginia; sisters, Lucille Vaughan, Katherine Vaughan Martin; and brothers, William Vaughan, Preston Vaughan, Carlton Vaughan and Charlie Vaughan; and her parents, William Preston Vaughan and Carrie Ethel Giddings Vaughan. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patricia Lehman, Sue Hartley (Randy) and Donna Loving (Leonard); sister, Shirley Vaughan Tate; grandchildren, Tripp, Greg, Jenny, Allyson, Carrie, Kyle, Ashley, Taylor; and seven great-grandchildren. Frances was a long time member of Oakwood Memorial Baptist Church and was a dedicated member of their Deaf Ministry. The family will receive family and friends Thursday, June 1, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where funeral services will be held Friday, June 2, at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in Washington Memorial Park in Sandston followed by a reception at Oakwood Memorial Baptist Church, 3100 Gay Ave., Henrico, Va. 23231.
